Won a Million ? Go to Court !
Against Hole in One International / Odds On Promotions

Odds On Promotion from Reno not paying a gambling debt?

Odds On Promotion from Reno not paying a gambling debt?

10/11/2013 Bill B. says:

Just a shout out to gamblers everywhere to check out who is backing that "big payout" machine you're getting ready to drop a bundle into. Check out this article from a Portland Oregon TV station about a lady who won a Million on a machine insured and run by Odds On, and they say they wont pay because their employee dialed in the wrong info into their own slot machine.

Looks like this lady has a real gripe about not being paid the Million she won fair and square. If you insure a slot machine, you assume the risk, especially if your employee set the machine up right or wrong! Period! You can bet every casino manager in the northwest is watching to see what Odds On does with this debt, cause Yelp just told them!!!

Oh my God! I'm a graphic designer and moved here to Reno just over a year ago. This company, Odds On Promotions, had a full-time design position open that I applied for. I found it a bit strange that it was all being handled by a rather snooty lady that supposedly runs her own design firm in town, and not the Odds On company itself, which she called her "client." Well, I never heard back from anyone regarding the position, and found it even stranger that the same position was being advertised again online not even six months later. Talk about a blessing in disguise that it didn't happen!

I truly hope this lady gets what's entitled to her. Crazy how such a shady casino prize/insurance company can't even do their own job!

10/11/2013 JD F. says:

THAT is one more reason not to play at any Indian casino. At least in Reno, you have the right to appeal to the Nevada Gaming Commission. Each Indian casino is their own regulatory agency.

Every Nevada casino should make sure their gamblers hear this story.

The player might have the right to sue that promotion company (that is probably hiding their assets as we speak), but she cannot sue the tribe operating that casino. The tribe is like their own foreign country with sovereign immunity.

10/11/2013 from Yelp for Android Java B. says:

At least the casino is fighting too and paid her the value of the first years jackpot installment...

I think you can sue the tribe and it would go to tribal court... But why waste your breath?

10/11/2013Bill B. says:

Yes, the Tribal Casino, Chinook Winds, went the extra mile, paid her the first $50 grand, and is going to bat with her as part owner of the lawsuit against Odds On. She doesn't have to take on "Odds On" alone.
I have found over the years that all casinos are NOT equal, tribal or not!
Kudos to Chinook Winds for doing the right thing! I have played there quite a few times, and am even money with them. Never made money at Vegas or Reno! Best payouts I have enjoyed have been at 7 Cedars Casino in Sequim Washington, and The Mill Casino in Coos Bay, Oregon. Won jackpots multiple times at both places, and nowhere else from Seattle to Vegas, and they are both tribal. Wonder how they would deal with a problem like the lady's million in Oregon. Next time I'm in their neighborhood, I'll ask!

10/12/2013 FloridaSnowboarder R. says:

For sure. Just so everyone knows, Odds On has a sister company located in the same building, called Hole In One International, I believe specializing in the golf tournament sector. So, if you bump into anyone that's looking to have a golf tournament sweepstakes sponsor, tell them to avoid this place like the plague!
