SO CLOSE, YET SO FAR! - At a recent event in So. California, we had a gentleman ''flag one'' from 187 yards away. As the ball hit the green and rolled toward the flagstick, the group was all yelling - ''WERE GOING TO PINEHURST!'' (which was the award for that Par 3). Disappointment struck when the ball hit the flagstick and came to rest 1'' away - 1'' from PERFECTION!
